CHRONIC RESPIRATORY DISEASE (CRD) –IN POULTRY

Image
Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) in poultry causes economical loss to farmer and in sever case it may cause mortality. The main agents involved in the infection are Mycoplasma gallisepticum and E. coli . Stress caused by moving the birds, by debeaking, other operations/handlings or other unfavourable conditions (e.g. cold or bad ventilation), make the birds more susceptible. The main agents involved in the infection are Mycoplasma gallisepticum and E. coli. Mycoplasma gallisepticum + chronic stress factor + secondary coliform organisms cause respiratory disease.  Species susceptible are Chickens , Turkeys etc. Transmission of CRD in Poultry The parent birds infected with Mycoplasma gallisepticum can transmit the organism through the egg to their offspring (vertical transmission). In addition, infection can occur by contact or by airborne dust or droplets (horizontal transmission). Egg transmission:  It is of major importance and the means by which the disease perpetuates ...

Vitamin D is key to optimising calcium absorption The rapid growth rate of modern day poultry requires supplementation of essential nutrients for support of growth and health, all the while trying to maximise and attain its full genetic potential. Calcium and phosphorus are essential nutrients involved in many biological processes. Both of these minerals play roles in the skeleton, metabolic balance, blood clotting, enzyme activation, neuromuscular function, nucleic acids and many more functions and processes of the living system . The Vitamin D 3 is the crucial component for the bone formation or for a good egg quality. The micro element magnesium is essential for the bone- and egg shell matrix. The body needs vitamin D 3 to absorb calcium. Without enough vitamin D 3 , the body can’t form enough of the hormone calcitriol. This in turn leads to unsatisfactory calcium absorption from the feed. In deficiency, the body utilises calcium from its stores in the skeleton, which weaken...

To earn profit from cattle farming deworm your cattle at regular intervals, don’t wait for worms to completely destroy the health of your cattle. Deworm your cattle as deworming controls internal parasites(worms) such as Roundworms, Lungworms, Intestinal worms, Tapeworms, Liver Flukes. As internal parasites utilize nutrition, so cattle thereby will not get appropriate nutrition & hence there is poor growth & production of cattle. Poor growth & production of cattle adversely affect efficiency of the...
